iOS build successful!

It was really fast too (extremely fast)!

Although it was just a small project for a customer.

Hello everyone,

Here in France, it is still impossible to make a successfull build. This has been happening almost every day for the past week from early morning (around 8:00 am - utc+1). I was able to make a build last night, but I couldn't do it this morning.

@Rob Miracle or anyone at CoronaLabs : I am sure you're doing your best but the lack of information is truly astonishing, even disturbing. Unless I am mistaken, your last message on Twitter was posted on January 15, your last post on the CoronaLabs forums was on January 17th...
What is going on at CoronaLabs? Should we worry?

Thank you in advance for maintaining a link with your users. I'm not talking about information, I'm talking about a link.

Have a good day,

Emmanuel

They are working on fixing the servers.

As mentioned in previous post everybody can check the status here:

http://status.coronalabs.com/

The last days only a few hours a day, we can have successful builds.

Personally if I see a positive post I try myself too.

That's the main reason I'm following this topic :P

Emmanuel, not hearing any news from Corona stuff is completely normal.

It doesn't mean anything bad and you don't have to worry :)

Let's not make it another doomsday topic :P

Hello Aarbron,

I am aware of the status page but it only shows what we already know. And I really didn't want to make a doomsday topic, that was not my point. English is not my native language, so perhaps, the tone of my text seemed disturbing to you because of that ? If yes, sorry about that...

Anyway, I disagree with you when you say "Not hearing any news from Corona stuff is completely normal. It doesn't mean anything bad and you don't have to worry" According to me, with Corona, there's a lot to be excited about. But there's also reason to be concerned...

Anyway, since there doesn't seem to be anything else to do, let's wait and see...

Wish you a very good day!

There are companies that overshare and there are companies that don't share enough. I would say that Corona falls under the latter category, but as Aarbron said, this is normal for them and isn't a cause for concern.

Build on iOS was successful around 8 hours ago.

I can't build since the past ~2 hours. Hope it will be up soon.

Since we have all the information we need (they know about the problem, working on it, they are not good at sharing etc etc) I have an idea.

While waiting for Rob to inform us in this topic, we could post only when we have successful builds.

That way we would let each other know when it's a good time to try!

Until it's fixed and we go back to normal.

Repeating myself doesn't seem like a good use of time.

There is no status change. We have still not found the problem. We continue to try and find the cause. About the only thing that is more useful information is that it does seem to be tied to the time of day (and yes, we've gone through all the periodic jobs). The problem usually starts around 08:00 GMT and clears up 7-10 hours later or 15:00 GMT to 18:00 GMT. It seems to be a weekday problem too.

If you try outside of those hours, you should find success. If you try during those hours, it's likely going to be problematic.

Sorry, Rob you're gonna get this straight from the hip.  It's almost 2 weeks and you can't find the problem?

That's BS, you know the problem... just change your servers.

Being cynical, Marketplace and monetize have zero downtime!

You realise this is public and indexed by Google right?

Monetize was the old Corona Ads service. I'm not sure why that server is still running. We haven't had CoronaAds in years.

As we've stated, Marketplace doesn't directly tie in to developer.coronalabs.com. Its database, website and APIs are completely detached until you have to login and most people are logged in with long-lasting cookies so it rarely has to touch developer.coronalabs.com.

There is no evidence that the hardware or operating system is the issue, so moving to a different server probably isn't going to do much other than move the problem.  And no, we don't know what's causing the problem. It is not in our best interest to have this outage. We are very frustrated with this.

Rob

I doubt the issue is related to this, but a few days ago I was hired to fix a website that had started acting up early in January. In their case, the website's original programmer had tried some weird optimisations to the back-end and had created their own mini-Y2K problem. If the website's database was accessed by users from certain time-zones during a specific time-frame it simply crashed because the back-end tried to create some new entries to a past date.

Thank you rob for your message. Juste made a successful build.

Pointing out a problem in relation to time slots seems to be correct; I think we all experience that.

I imagine the pressure is high and so is the frustration. But still, 2 weeks without a single clue about the root problem? Have you considered bringing in a marabout? :)

Nice day to everybody and good luck to Corona guys...

Hey Rob,

This is a very useful piece of information. I'm glad I was able to find it. I would recommend posting it in other places as well, like Twitter and other Corona News places.

Have you tried to switch off all traffic to the server apart from a single external IP address?  I assume there is some firewall sitting in front of this server.  Can you not restrict all traffic to the server apart from one IP address so you can verify if traffics is a route cause?

You need to know if the issue is external or internal right?

Successful iOS build just now. Almost 3:00 PM in GMT+8 (PST).

During the 'suspect time' last night, I found that about 75% of the time it would stick on "Authorizing build ..." for 5-10 minutes, then it would continue (still slowly, though.) I never had it fail completely on its own but aborted/killed after 20 minutes a couple times. Seems to be 'flapping', though with very large flaps.

In the grand tradition of making suggestions I know nothing about, regarding the effort to accommodate offline(ish) builds for iOS, it would be personally helpful to my selfish self that if the build didn't require/include any plugins, that it went completely offline.

Do you know why the linking issue from earlier in this thread would  happen?  I'm not outputting to the same directory as the app source, and have successfully built this app for a year prior.  Any help would be appreciated

As if the Corona brand wasn't diluted enough! :D

Now it goes Virus > Beer > Thing around the Sun > Renderer > Game Engine
