Has anyone successfully uploaded (or changed) data on Instagram via Corona SDK?

I've been asked to consider writing an app to do some relatively minor interfacing with Instagram

(no picture upload).

So, I'm hoping someone has some sample code to access Instagram.

I assume I'd have to be an Instagram developer, and use their API (probably OAUTH based).

I've found and tried out the Google OAUTH code that someone (thomas6?) kindly posted a while back,

so I *might* have a start on understanding the OAUTH process.

Alternatively, if anyone wants to discuss providing a module to do a minor Instagram update,

I'd be happy to talk to them.

BTW, I don't know if "run the instagram app on my phone with a special entry point/URL" trick would be applicable here, since the photo is already on the Instagram site.

Target platform: probably Android, possibly iOS too.

Thanks,

Stan

Hi.

I doubt you will be allowed to change data, unless it's your own (maybe). Additionally, it looks like the Instagram API is being quickly being moved to the Graph API. So access to even basic data will be unavailable sometime in early 2020 (according to the page).

While it doesn't answer your question, here are some resources I would look at if you have not already. It is also a little bit difficult to help since I am not sure what you are trying to accomplish.

Older API: https://www.instagram.com/developer/

Newer API: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/instagram-api

You will also need your app approved for use by Facebook.

Thanks, @Delephant ... the "newer api" has an interesting page at

https://developers.facebook.com/docs/instagram-api/reference/media/comments#create

which discusses uploading comments ... and it looks fairly simple (famous last words :)

I required the ability to get a user's feed from instagram for something and I put the code in Puggle if that's of any use? https://gitlab.com/grahamranson/Puggle/blob/master/systems/instagram.lua
