Hello everyone, Is there a way of integrating AdMob (or any comparable as network) without paying $199 / year for the plugin? I've started developing a game in Corona which I want to monetise using ads, but doubt that it's going to bring in enough revenue to justify the cost. Kind of annoying because everything I read before getting started with Corona suggested it was 100% free, it even says so on their homepage. I do realise they need to make money to continue to operate, but $199 a year just to be able to integrate a single ad network is a little steep IMO.

There are several ways of doing that.

We offer way more free ad options than we do paid ad options and we even offer a couple of revenue split plugins as well. Admob can be included as a free option with Appodeal.

$199 a year is very reasonable. You have to put value on your time and experience. Nothing prevents you from using Corona Native and building your own AdMob implementation. You have to figure out what your time is worth and how much time it would take you to build and maintain your own version. Let's say your time is worth $50 / hour. That's only 4 hours of your time to that we are covering for you to build and maintain the plugin for both iOS and Android.

If you're in this to make money, it's a tax deductible expense, and if using Corona helps you make money, you should be willing to support us. But if you fear you won't make that investment back, you should go with some of our free options.
