I'm just wondering if anyone has found a reasonable solution to this issue. I just want a black/white border around text so it will distinguish itself properly from various background images.

Thanks.

Bitmap fonts are the way to go.

You'll need a program to convert the fonts and add an outline, I use BM Glyph.

Plus a library to load them in Corona, I use Font Manager:

Omg thank you, this is exactly what I was looking for. I'm so glad someone finally made this. I had heard of the bitmap font/fontmanager solution, but it seemed a bit cumbersome. Thank you for sharing.

Stroking text objects would be so much easier!
