In short: I need to allow the user to select multiple images from the phone's image library.

Currently, you can select only one picture at the time with the media.selectPhoto call. I need one of these options:

  • Develop a way for me to access all the pictures in the library, so I can create my own gallery, OR,
  • Develop a gallery that allows me to select multiple images.

This must work in a PRO license, preferably using a plugin.

If you think you can help me, and you have the time, feel free to e-mail me at rob _at_ springmorning.nl or call me at +31 44 151 826, so we can discuss budget and other terms.

Looking forward.

Kind regards,

~Rob Vermeulen / Spring Morning Software

This would be impossible to do with a pro license since you would have to access native libraries. You have to use Enterprise.

An enterprise developer could make the plugin and submit it to the Corona Labs store (currently only supporting Free plugins) and any SDK subscriber can use it.

Exactly that, Rob. But I was under the impression that private plug-ins were also an option (e.g. not published on the Corona Labs Store).

I.m.h.o. another possibility would be the use of CoronaCards, although quite cumbersome. I would prefer the Plugin version, even if it means it's free for others to use.

Enterprise A developer can create a plugin and Enterprise B developer can use it.

Enterprise A developer can be part of a larger team and use the more expensive Enterprise license and host plugins on their own server and the rest of their team can use Corona SDK to build but cannot do this for the general public.

Hi Rob, thanks for clarifying this.

I have an Enterprise license (used to be PRO but I was upgraded because of the changes in licenses you guys made).

But I have no development workflow for Enterprise. We are Windows based, and only use Macs for testbuilds and deployment, so that kills almost every option to use Enterprise :)

Can I ask another Enterprise developer ( B ) to develop and host the plugin for me, so I can use it in our PRO license environment?

Just to make clear: I gladly pay for someone to develop a plugin that is free for everyone else to use. But I don't want to wait for the whole process of publishing and approval to be completed. That usually takes what, a few weeks? That would be too long for this project.

So if approving a Plugin takes only a few hours, that would be fine. Otherwise I'd choose for the private plugin option.

Regards!

@springmorning, No, you cannot have an Enterprise build a plugin for you and host it for you. They can only self-host for their own team. So you can have the person build it for you and submit it to our plugin store for everyone as a Free plugin, or you can do enterprise builds with plugins created by other Enterprise subscribers.

@Rob how long would it take to process the plugin to the corona marketplace?

UPDATE: Plugins vary in complexity and quality of functionality and documentation. We can't accurately quote a turn around time for plugin submissions. Some could happen reasonably quickly, others will require more back and fourth to get live. Also volume impacts this as well.

We're in negotiation with a developer for this plug-in. If somebody wants to pitch in with $$$, that would be great.

If no one pitches in, the plug-in stays private.
