Hi everyone,

I like to introduce the game I have been working on for a long long long time. 
PRISON LIFE RPG

It is a point and click RPG where you play as one of the prisoners, trying to survive or even escape from the Prison!

More than 100 prisoners to interact with!
You can interact with each prisoners and improve or worsen your relationship.
Good relationship: they will help you, you can learn skills from them or even ask them to join your escape team!
Bad relationship: they will bully you, beat you up, or even hire another prisoner to kill you!

Goals 
Breaking out of prison is not the only goals of this game. Each character has his own personal goal. For example 

*You want to become Leader of a gang in prison
*You are here to kill the prisoner who has murdered your wife
*You want to get rich in prison
*You are a loser in life. You wish to become a strong bad-ass bully!
*Your wife is leaving you for another guy so you beat him up. Now you have to win back your wife's heart from prison!
*Your brother is being sentenced to death. You are here to break out of prison with him!
*You are hired to test the security of the prison. Break out within 20 days!
and many more!

How to get out of prison?
*Behave yourself, make friends with guards, then get a parole and leave prison early.
*Do your time, and get released from prison.
*Or simply break out of prison in many interesting methods!

Android, iOS iphone 4 and above

 

Target Release:

Christmas - unlikely to meet this deadline :(

I love simulation games, but this seems a bit too kiddy/casual for me. That aside, the graphics are nice - I especially like the animations / idle of the prisoners. Did you use any particular tools for the animation process?

That looks amazingly polished. I love how different the prisoners look - each face has so much personality!

Thanks for the feedback, appreciated!

Each character has separate graphic for leg, arms body and head, then I use code transition to animate the characters,

Thanks fellow corona devs! 

It is not a hit game and didn't get featured by Apple, but I am very glad it doesn't end up as one of the zero sales game club(I have a few of those)

To hit above #50 RPG in USA app store needs about 50 downloads per day.

 

I'll share some data after 1 mth on the market.

1st launch on App Store only English.

I translated to French version which is available on android 1st April. I do think the localization helps. I am translating to russian and chinese now.

To sell 416 copies on day one on the iOS --, how many views did you have on your page? My first App only had 200 views! It seems to me you would need like 4000+ views to sell that many copies(if 1% people buy your app). How did you get so much traffic to your app? Was it your Thunderclap campaign that helped you? Any advice for us lowly newbies   :)

I don't know the app store page view count on day 1 as the apple app analytics was not up yet. My life time click through rate is 0.036% so to get 400+ I need 14k views. It is very low % but consider my game is niche(lots of words) and expensive (cost much more than $0.99) I think it is reasonable.

I doubt I have that many views on 1st day, but I been having beta testing for 2 months before launch and many beta testers helped to boost up my thread on toucharcade.com which I believe is the primary source of 1st day buyers. 

 

But 400+ overall gets you no where on the chart and the download rate dropped by half each day. I think a good 1st day for paid app needs at least 5k download.

 

thunderclap did nothing. Don't bother!

 

Get featured by apple is still the best. Other wise a famous youtuber/streamer play your game.

Any chance you could give another update on sales figures now that you've been running for several months (launch sales vs persistence sales)?
