Hi everyone...

Can I trust in corona jobs?

If I ask somebody to do something, and we agree in a price for a job, let's say $10.00 for writing a code that move an image, and a clean code that works...

He or she say yes...

I say yes...

I give him or she the money

and he or she never finish the clean code...

Now what?

Do I loose the money? Try with someone else? what if it's the same?

Please I need some help

Pay on delivery of code. Or pay partial to start and balance on completion. However if you already paid not much you can do. But hope they live up to their end of the bargain

No all developers are independent of corona. Your contract was between you and them. Best thing to do in future is check them out better. How long they been using corona. What kind of rep. They have on the forums. Ask for references.
Create a contract between you and them and agree on a payment arrangement in advanced that works so as you get some code they get some payment. This way if there's an issue you will at lease have a better legal stance if it were to come to that
Ps save all contact between y'all
Just my suggestions

You can also create an Elance.com job (or similar) and have them sign up there.

Well, I have been working on another Corona based App for the last 5 months as part of a contract. This App is now ready to release so I got some spare time, I can take a look at your code if you wish.

Hi "ouguolin" -- I worked with Odesk before, they stole my money also 2 times -- so no oDesk for me.

But I can work with you personally.

Hi CineTek -- I can also work with you.

I have 3 or 4 ideas for an app. I need a lot of help in learning how to do a lot of things.

I rather pay money to learn something that I need. Then buying books or videos telling me

things that I don't need, or if I try to use that in my own videos, they don't work.

So...I will give you the code.

I will tell you what I need, and what is the problem I have.

You fix the code, and make it work. with no errors, and solve the problem.

I will give you $10.00 dollars USA per problem solved.

You send me your home or work address.

I will send you a money order, under your name.

--no paypal

I am a very honest man. My name is Victor Barba

I have no intentions to not paying you. I understand that everything in life cost.

but I really want to learn.

You can check my name in Google, in App Store I have 2 apps and 24 books published.

So $10.00 per problem solved. If you think it's fair, let me know.

Wouldn't recommend working with "Victor Barba." I fell into his $10 a question trap a few weeks ago. Helped him with three questions. Each of those times, he had someone else helping him and my solution magically did not work.

Okay... Chris Zielinski --- Let's talk

I have not told you anything personal. But when you use MY NAME, to offend me an attack me and tell everyone that I'm using a "TRAP" to get people to tell me, or teach me something, and then not paying them...

That is a big lie. I can easily prove it.

I hope Rob, or Brent reads this. or anybody else in Corona. I am a honest man.

You Chris told me one line on July 16 -- .isVisible -- I don't know if that... you considered a "solve" problem $10.00

it did not solve the problem.

then on  July 24 -- you put to variables and one function  -- if dice == 3 --- maybe you think that was another $10.00

it did not solve the problem.

Then on August 1 you change the if function and ask me if that solve the problem

it didn't, I was not understanding what you were telling me.

--------

Some one else -- sent me a complete code. I tough it would help me better. So I sent him $25.00 via paypal.

it turned out the code he wrote. still today is not working. He just stop answering my mails. So I lost $25.00 there.

and Chris, by the way -- I am not putting his name here, at all.

--------

Because I was not understanding what you Chris where trying to tell me, because you sent pieces of code, not the complete code. and I am a really beginner, maybe it was not your fault, maybe I need it more experience.

I told you that maybe we can work in another app.

You told me I was not been very "trustworthy in the past, I don't expect anything different in the future, but I wish you luck with your apps."

that was on August 3 -- last time.

Now you are telling the whole world, I'm putting a "trap" ---

Just think about it...

Here is the link to the whole private post Chris and I had.

http://forums.coronalabs.com/index.php?app=members&module=messaging&section=view&do=showConversation&topicID=324&st=0#msg1496

If you still think I owe you money I will gladly give you the $20.00 or $30.00 dollars you think I owe you. For fixing a problem that I still have.

Do you honestly believe, that anyone, here on the forums, will risk their reputation for $30.00?

I have 2 apps in the app store, and I'm planning to do this for the rest of my life?

I am 52 years old, I am not young, and doing this just for fun, this is very important to me.

I am an author with more than 24 books published by major companies, like Hal Leonard, and Mel Bay?

Chris, I think it was a little too much. I understand, you don't even know me. I hope, and I pray that this will help you, and everyone else who is reading this, to get to know me a little bit more.

I bought Dr. Burks book -- And I gave him the money --

I bought Jay White Videos -- And I gave him the money --

I am not a criminal.

I don't expect anything from you Chris. I also don't know you, and you may had some bad experiences in the past with other people, and maybe that was why you reacted that way. I am so sorry. Tell me if you want your money, and you think I really owe you, I will give you the money, but please, respect my name.

So everyone else...

Yes! you can work with me, and you can trust on me. My word is very, very trustworthy.

Your friend

Victor Barba

Hello Victor,

Nice to speak to you again. :) Maybe my previous comment was a little malicious. I meant no disrespect. I was simply warning other developers, such as myself, from working with you, because my experiences were not exactly amazing with you. As it looks, other developers have gotten a hint even before my comment. Maybe I just had a bad experience and treated you unfairly, if that is the case, I'm sorry.

Kind regards,

Chris Zielinski.

Hello Victor,

(Hi Chris, thanks for responding)

Nice to speak to you again. :)

(same to you)

Maybe my previous comment was a little malicious.

(it's fine, no hard feelings, you did not know me as a person)

I meant no disrespect.

(It's okay, I understand, no problem)

I was simply warning other developers, such as myself, from
working with you ----------

(This is the point... Do you still feel the same? Are you still warning other developers to work with me?

Do you still believe I can not be trust? if so...

What can I do to show you that I am a honest man, and my word is worth a lot?)

because my experiences were not exactly amazing with you.

(Why? Do you honestly believe I owe you money?

if so... I can give you the money that you deserve. Again...

$30.00 is not enough to loose my reputation and my name.

If you feel I owe you money, just tell me how I can send you the money, and then your experience with me

will be a nice one. And no hard feelings.

If you feel I don't owe you money, why do you think I did wrong. So I can be a better person in the future.)

As it looks, other developers have gotten a hint even before my
comment.

(is this still a little malicious comment?

other developers have gotten a hint... From where? -- From who? What did I do wrong with anyone else here? I don't really understand why you still say this?)

Maybe I just had a bad experience and treated you unfairly,

(Again, if it was BAD, what can I do to make it GOOD?

I don't know you, but you are as important to me, as anyone else.

I don't like to have an enemy in this field.

I will be here for the rest of my life.

who knows, you may be a very important person in this business, I don't know.

Or in the future you may be...

I only want to have friends)

if that is the case, I'm sorry.

(It's okay, Chris...I'm sorry also for everything.

would you like to be my friend and are you willing to forget all this?

Please tell me, Do I owe you money?)

Kind regards,

Chris Zielinski.

I hope everything is fine between us.

your friend

Victor Barba

Thank you Rob, we will.

But I'd just like to address Victor one more time publicly.

I could have been completely wrong, and you may be the most honest man in the whole forum and it was wrong for me to discredit you. Of course we can be friends, and I hold nothing above your head as I hope you will do the same with me. I wish you a lot of luck with your future experiences and connections.

Kind regards.

I don't really get what the problem is.

I mean, if you want to hire someone else to do work for you and you want to be on the safe side, then make a clear contract. If anyone of you breaks it, it's an official thing that can be proven and handled by official institutions.

If you don't want to make a contract for what ever reason (to much effort, don't want to pay taxes and so on) you have to trust each other. And if anybody breaks the agreement then you have nearly no way to prove it and to get what you deserve.

Also I think the forums are not the right place to "fight" that out. It's only a place to find potential developers or jobs. Everything after that is your own business.

Last words for me on this post.

I respect everyone as persons.

I'm sorry for all the misunderstanding.

I think I was sad, and I open this post. That was not smart from my part. Sorry.

Corona forums, has nothing to do with this

Corona for me, it's the best of the best, it made my dreams come true...

All is in the past.

Let's move on to the next post. And move on with our lives.

And let's keep working all of us in making great apps for the people.

So, to answer the very first question -- Can I trust Corona Jobs?

Yes! I can.
