Is anyone interested?  I ‘ve been working on a prototype and have  already coded the major components, but still have a few bugs to work out.  There are also some details left to work in, such as the options/”For Grown Ups” menu.

Edit:

I guess I should clarify; this template is for a book that has auto play, read to me and read by myself options.

In case there are others out there ... here's a start on a gamebook template (think: choose your own adventure stories).

Using git:

      git clone https://github.com/jbp4444/BookApp

or visit the url and you can download a zip archive.

Sounds interesting! I'd like to know more about it.

@ccopca ... Egret and I have a separate email thread going, but what I've been interested in is a choose-your-own book (possibly adding in some gamebook characteristics like random numbers that can alter the options presented to a user).

If you're interested in that kind of (simple) book, check out Twine/Twee -- http://www.gimcrackd.com/etc/src/ -- it is a graphical environment to build out your story, including links, 1-of-N and multiple choices.  The output from that (Export to text, I think) is what I'm trying to read in and process in a mobile app.

Again ... not trying to spam ... sorry if you saw this in the other forum threads, I have a gamebook framework that is usable now (not quite what Egret was originally asking about):

If you're interested, I'd be happy to explain it more.
