I started on Inneractive because a friend used them and had some moderate success. Plus, the ease of implementation in Corona made it an attractive choice for a Corona newbie like I was.
I had one app that was having success, and I started it out on Inneractive. On average, I was making $1-$3 per day in ad revenue. My best day, I think I hit $8. I did a ton of research and decided to switch to RevMob...and I am SO GLAD that I made the switch. My ECPMs skyrocketed and I went from making a couple of dollars a day to making $30-$50 per day. Best day I had was over $80...in one day. Granted, I had good traffic on my app, but what a difference it made.
I changed all of my apps to RevMob and haven't looked back. ECPMs are still at a great number by my standards. It's fantastic supplemental income for me.
On top of all of that, I had several instances with Inneractive where my account would be disabled for no reason. I couldn't log in, and I couldn't access my account at all. The first time that happened, I spent 3 days trying to get in touch with someone at Inneractive. They had silently disabled my account because it "looked to be spammy". Really? How is that even possible? I had to jump through hoops to get it turned back on. Their communication was awful and it really just made me mad. Wouldn't you at least TRY to contact a customer before killing their account? I certainly didn't get reimbursed for the several days of revenue that I missed out on...but hey, it was only a few dollars anyway, so who cares?
Anyway, I'm not a fan of Inneractive. RevMob on the other hand has been very responsive to the few emails that I've sent them, and generally much easier to work with.
That's my opinion....it's worth what I'm charging you for it.
@vanheuverswyn are you using RevMob for both android and IOS ? or just IOS?
I have found RevMob seems not to be showing my ads on my Galaxy S or kindle fire..
What is your take?
There are apparently no ads available for Kindle users on RevMob at the moment.
On the other hand, I have a Galaxy S2 and have no issues with ads.
I haven't implemented ads on my Android versions. So I can't speak to the viability of that. Haven't had the time to go back and revise. All of my experience has been with the Apple App store.
By the way, I meant to say that even though my apps are in their "off season" right now, I'm still seeing good revenue and $3-$5 ECPMs (depending on the day) with RevMob.
thanks for The info - Since it seems to work pretty well on IOS I am going to finish up my RevMob ads there.
Then I'll test on Android devices and use interactive for kindle, they seemed to work on the kindle.
Ahh Splitting code based on OS, that sucks, but so goes the life of a developer. ( If then else elseif end )
@Naomi and Everyone - does anyone know what happens to your app when an Ad is clicked - does it go into suspend mode or anything?
Or is it supposed to?
I send my ads to their own "Scene" in the storyboard and just wonder how to handle the action of an add is clicked and not closed.
should I check for suspend / resume actions ?
Thanks for the help
Well now my RevMob Ads have stopped working on IOS.. - Flipping Eh - What a joke..
so RevMob, I am using Build - CoronaSDK 2013.1064 But the same error was happening about 10 versions back as well ( As I usually update 1 time every couple weeks for stability
The Error I get it.
No ads for this device/country right now, or your App ID is paused. (204)
I have the latest SDK from RevMob so I don't have any idea what the problem is.
Anyone else having issues...
RevMob have any comments??
Bueller... Anyone, Anyone...?
Here you go read this post about Ad system I just created...
i did happen on this Lua example ad mediator for corona that someone created.
It looks very good, but I have not gotten it to work as of yet with interactive, but i'm working on it - limited time this week
